I have an EXE originally written in VFP3.0b that is used on a Novell Network in a multiuser environment. It's been operating without flaw for about 3 years. We are now switching to NT 4.0 sp3 from WIN 3x. Since moving to NT I compiled the program to VFP5a and fixed all the obvious problems from my previous poor coding. Everything now appears to work properly for the end user (multiuser access, edits, updates, etc. all working as designed.)

The Problem: I have a need to access the dbf's while the program is running on another station(s) and do that through the command window in VFP. I can access the dbf's and edit fields, have those revisions show at the user's station, as long as I access the dbf's using VFP3. Doing the same thing using VFP5 I get either a 1569 error or a "Database g:\...\propdata.dbc. File access denied"

I have done a Display Status to see all the settings and compared them to one another and cannot find any significant differences in the settings. I have set EXCLUSIVE OFF and attempted using OPEN DATABASE SHARED, but for some reason the DBC appears to be locked (which doesn't seem right since it's being used by multiple users) or attempting to lock the DBC when opening the tables using VFP5.

Is there a setting that I'm overlooking? Something else? Thanks!
