Nancy had some good points. You might also look at your buffering. If you have a table set to row buffering, VFP will save any changes when you move your record pointer.

However, your problem seems to me to be related to whether your fields are bound or not. Any field that is used for lookup data should NOT be bound to a table.

>What I am doing is trying to find an existing record. There 2 fields on the form that show the same infomation. One for display and one to search. In valid to search for a record I open the table a second time with an alias. When I find a record I close the second occurrence and try to GO to the found record. This what cause the error. A seek or locate also cause the error.
