>>>A few days ago, I proposed the idea of a developers association for the common good of VFP developers. This idea has run wild; it is now beyond the point of common sense.
My thoughts exactly, the sensationalism that was going on at the time seem to carry this off on a tangent that wasn't apart of the original concept. I know I posted a message that sort of rolled several ideas into one, and for that I'm sorry... just all the doom-n-gloom got the best of me and led me to only add to the sensationalism unfortunately.
>Poor planning, I believe, will lead to a poor organization.
I second that too, and in this case it seems like a lack of planning allowed a good idea to snowball into a witch hunt (which isn't something I want to be apart of if the proper planning isn't put into this concept). I know at some point mention was made for volunteers, but I personally would of rather seen this idea for an association lead to a group meeting at DevCon where ideally goals and a mission statement would be formulated. Followed by the usual nominations for officers and such like any other organization I belong too.
