I have created some controls in VFP that
perform the same functions as some ActiveX
controls; a calendar container, a progress bar
and a "Outlook" style bar.

Most of these were fairly simple; the outlook
bar took only 3 objects and 10 lines of code!
I'm sure some of you have done the same.

The question is: Why use ActiveX controls to
acheive functionality that can be done with
native VFP controls? I have the benefit of
being able to modify the base level code of
the control, whereas the ActiveX control only
provides you the functionality built in at the
base level, and it's static funcionality at best
without extensive coding in a subclass.

Any thoughts?
