>>>Hi all,
>>>
>>>A few days ago, I proposed the idea of a developers association for the common good of VFP developers. This idea has run wild; it is now beyond the point of common sense.
>>>
>>>It would be appreciated if everyone would step back, take a deep breath, and wait. I do not condone the posts that harken the foundation of a "VFPDA". This is a subject that requires thought and I hope that all of you take the time to await an agenda.
>>
>>I agree with John. We should not to rush into this and do things as "the faster - the better". We should define our goals first, and do some real work before we announce the VFPDA.

>I have to agree with you and John. My personal opinion is that for this to be a viable organization, then we should take a course similar to something we do all the time: develop applications. Poor planning can turn the simplest application into a nightmare. I believe that the same sort of thing holds true here. Poor planning, I believe, will lead to a poor organization.

I agree about planning time also, George. After all, none of us want to start a project without doing a Needs/Requirement Analysis and even writing out Use Cases. Why should we approach this with any less professional care?

In other messages the question has been raised about having a meeting at DevCon vs organizing on UT. I would like to see SOME kind of meeting at DevCon because we will be able to reach non-UT programmers. (And yes, there are still a few out there). Perhaps an informational rather than organizational meeting?
