basically correct- you can however create a sort of c/s setup by running a VFP server app
and contacting it from the client apps
The exe location affects our ability to upgrade and

it is more simple to upgrade to a new version , as you only have one file to change
however you can write something that will do upgrades automatically (compare local verion
to server version on startup etc.)
as a rule I would go for "local" installations (s)
