Sorry, this is a pretty long message, but hopefully someone can get a clue to what's going on with VFP 6.0.

I installed everything a few weeks ago from the Visual Studio Enterprise CD. I noticed that after I did a build on my project that when I clicked on the tabs in the project manager that the window contents stayed the same (I would click on classes and the results would stay on data). I chalked this up to a video driver problem and it didn't hurt much to close the project and re-open it.

I am using the Stonefield Database Toolkit 5.1 and Mere Mortals 4.1 framework, although I don't think they have anything to do with my problems.

I have gotten use to getting an error when running my program in VFP and then getting the C0000005 error. No problem, I just restarted fox and everything was ok.

A couple of weeks ago, the C0000005 beast started getting ugly. It started corrupting my DB containers when I rebuilt the project. It would also, somehow, revert some of my objects back to where they used to be on my drive (very frustrating).

Naturally, I came to the UT for help. I read the threads and did the following.

Installed all VFP 6.0 patches
Installed Visual Studio SP2
Deleted the Foxuser files.
No HP printer drivers installed. I use a Lexmark Optra S 1250
Uninstalled VB 6.0, VSS 6.0, and VC++ 6.0
Checked to make sure DCOM was installed
Uninstalled and reinstalled VFP 6.0 and patched it.
Installed IE 5.0
Ran Scandisk Thorough (no errors)

Read on the Microsoft site Article Q194184 but I could find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VisualFoxpro.6. I had ...VisualFoxpro.Application.6 and VisualFoxproRuntime.6

So I tried to do a complete uninstall of Visual Studio. I got an "Failed to unregister .SRG file". Then I got an error about having spaces in my win95\system folder. There are no spaces and it is "windows\system" and I am running WIN98. How's that for un-original? Anyway, I reinstalled Visual Studio and then was able to uninstall it completely.

I read on the Microsoft site that we should uninstall all previous versions of VFP. OH really! I work on a VFP 3 project everyday, and in my spare time I am converting to VFP 6. That was really encouraging.

I set out to rid my system of anything that resembled a fox (I even deleted a folder with my wife's picture in it) :) After all the foxes were gone, I reinstalled Visual Studio with VFP ONLY.

I ran VFP and opened my project. I checked rebuild project, recompile all, and with great enthusiasm waited..... BOOM! C0000005. Rats!

I copied my backup DBC files over to fix them and to my suprise (well maybe not) when I tried to open the project, I had garbage. I copied from a backup my project files over and opened the project.

I am sitting here now, unable to rebuild my project. I can open my DBC's in the designer. I can open them with Stonefield and refresh metadata. But if I rebuild KER-PLOOEY!

Thanks, Any (and I do mean any) help will be greatly appreciated.
