After connecting to an Access Table I issue a SQLCOLUMNS() with the 'NATIVE' parameter to get a cursor of the Access table structure in NATIVE format.

Until now SQLCOLUMNS() as given me the cursor with the same columns and column names as listed in the SQLCOLUMNS() help. Now I have an Access '97 table with 155 fields which is higher than I have ever had in an Access table before. All of a sudden SQLCOLUMNS() is giving me a cursor with the four columns and column names that are normally returned when using the 'FOXPRO' parameter.

It seems to have something to do with the number of fields in the ACCESS table because, if I delete enough fields to bring the field count below 100, then SQLCOLUMNS() will start giving me a cursor with the regular 'NATIVE' columns.

I cannot find any documentation that mentions a limit on field count when working with SQL Passthrough technology.

Can anybody explain what is happening here and how I can predict this type of behavior.

TIA
