Everything works fine except when I click on the "X" or choose Close in the control box of the main VFP window, I get "Invalid subscript reference." When I ran it interactivly, the READ EVENTS line is highlighted and it doesn't even get to my procedure assigned to OH SHUTDOWN. I'm using 3.0b in 95 and I'm very green with VFP (I know 2.6 like it's nobodies business, but that doesn't mean much anymore!!). Thanks.

You need to clear your READ EVENTS before you try to shutdown VFP. It is much better to clear your environment before trying to exit VFP.
