Thanks Eric, I thought that I had narrowed it to a DBC, but I removed the one that was showing in the status bar when I got the error (it corrupted it) and the next build corrupted a different DBC.
I had recreated the project a few weeks ago when I had a different problem and added all the files back, but that thought hadn't hit me yet (sometimes they have to hit me pretty hard). I just created a new project this morning and starting adding DBC's one at a time. On the third one it blew again (no forms, classes...nothin' else in the project). I have a backup copy of my source in a different directory, so I copied the DBC's back over. Still got the error. Then it hit me (finally), that maybe I had gotten a file into my backup directory that was corrupt. So I went to a backup CD from a month ago and pulled the DBC's from there. THAT WORKED! I deleted the dummy project and put my original project back in and it compiled without errors (fully loaded with DBC's, classes .. the works). I sure would like to know what causes this. My dbc's looked fine, they just wouldn't let my project compile.
I'm so happy I may take the rest of the day off! (yea right)
Thanks again for your help, hope I can return the favor someday.
