Your personal observation must be based upon nothing more than a cursory glimpse of the place.

I'm not sure what you mean by "No Spam", unless it's that there is no spam here. Spam is not allowed on CompuServe.

IMO, CIS allows much easier navigation of messages and threads. It also allows better automatic tracking of file libraries and messages with various off-line readers that are available. UT has a long way to go to catch up with CIS and this web interface sucks.

>1. No Spam < What you like spam? There's no spam on CIS. >
>2. They had no file download area like this. < Again huh?!? There's a good file library area. >
>3. Topics got off topic a lot more than here. < Lots of people there are friends and they like to joke around. Most of it is limited to the Chatter section. IMO, the commaradery that exists there is something nice that's missing here. >
>4. Language used < Huh? Again, what do you mean? We all speak English. There is a German forum on CIS, I think. >
>5. Speed of Answers < I've placed questions on both places and received answers in about the same time period. It has varied from question to question. If I didn't know better I'd say that you either a) didn't give CIS a fair shake or b) have some kind of bias in favor of UT. >
>6. Accuracy of answers < Again, man, you are *way* off base. I've never had a problem with the accuracy of answers at either place. >

>>Is the Compuserve VFP forum useful? If it's half as good as this forum then I believe I'll need to sign up. Does Compuserve have the same content as this forum, specifically, the file download section? Does the Question / Answer section generate a lot of activity?
>>
>>Years ago the Compuserve forums were the only 'game in town' as far as developer's were concerned so I'm betting that they must be rather good if still active.
