It's not just you. (Search on View Designer!< s >) The view designer is, as are the wizards, more of a getting started tool. I use it to "rough out" a view, then finish it in code if it's the slightest bit complicated. Erik Moore has uploaded an enhancement to the view designer here in the files section.
