I am running VFP 5 and need to import Excel 97 data.

When I try either IMPORT FROM excel.xls TYPE xls or
APPEND FROM etc I get errors.

Is there a way to programatically open excel and read
the values in? I suppose I could open Excel and save
the data to a DBF (dbase 3) but I do NOT know how to
determine the range of contigious cells from within Excel.

The range will be different every time. How can I determine
the range? Doing a File Save as via OLE automation would
be the fastest route if I can determine the range.
