I wasn't clear. I'd like to be able to see the new messages BEFORE I finish reading all the old messages. Let's say it takes me 30 minutes to read all the new messages (may be an hour or more for 100+ messages). During that 30 minutes, several new messages are posted. I'd like to be able to add them to my existing list as I read, since often there are threads being actively updated.

At present, loading new messages with the post-it note also wipes all my existing messages, whether I've read them or not.
