There was a thread last week that related to this, and it seemed like the most realistic approach was to use a semaphore table that would register the locks on records.
Maybe something like that would help you? I have to admit to being suspicious of these sorts of routines...just have never seen why it's needed to be done. But, I'm happy to learn, so if you don't mind sharing what you're wanting to do, I'd appreciate it.
