Funny you should mention this. What I do is have my Top Level Form's Top property set to 999, a ridiculous number so it will be off the screen and my modal form will look like it is running totally independant from foxpro. The effect is great. However, yesterday I just ran into the problem when I added a print feature to an application and the VFP dialog box that says "Printing page 1..." displays in the far lower left hand corner of the screen. Looks very bad. I haven't seen the problem you mentioned with invalid date, but your assumption makes alot of sense.
