>You seem to know something about this VFP6 crash after shutdown. I have a simalar problem. Only the error I get is not a C0000005. Further it doesn't stop after removing SCREEN=OFF or installing DCOM. It happens after shutdown of the executable. It doesn't happen when running the application from within fox, probably because it returns to fox after closing the app. Here is the error, maybe you can tell me what to do or where to go from here

Sorry, I don't have a solution to this for you. A page fault is another operating system level failure; I assume that AVW is your application. There's no simple solution. There are several things that you could try:

(1) Make certain that the current runtime files are installed on the system, and that your install uses the latest distribution. There are updated components available from Microsoft; you can try http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates.asp to get the latest fixes and patches for VFP 5 and 6.

(2) Apply VS SP2. While there aren't files specifically for VFP, there are updates to some shared components that might make a difference.

(3) Try to clean up your environment before closing down VFP. it seems that many of the problems may be caused by things going on in VFP's memory management stiuff; several people have been able to clear up problems by explicitly shutting down objects and releasing memvars before quitting their application, You might try closing down your forms explicitly before issuing your QUIT statement, and explicitly RELEASE ALL and CLEAR DLLS.
