I am between two projects (vfp+ocx+odbc+db engines), an environment i have worked thru for years.

I shall spend a few weeks to evaluate a java-based work environment.

Basically trying to get a limited data-intensive applet to work with data-bound components (including an acceptable grid component if any) and making my mind up (not thru the press this time)

I intend to ramble thru inprise jbuilder 2 (because of delphi reputation). Any one run such a test with this tool or others (from symantec, sybase, ibm or others) ?

All feed-back or opinion welcome. The simpler the tool the better :)
