Afrer finishing my Application in Visual FoxPro ver 6.0 and creating the excutable, moving the files to be distributed, etc, and after obtaining and running BOTH of the set up patches, I create the setup files.
Now the setup wizard is supposed to gather the runtime files
and include them into the setup disks. This it appears to do.
BUT, when the client installs the program on a Windows
95 system, NONE of the runtime files are registered in the Windows registry, with a progression of error messages as the install progresses. When running the setup on a WindowsNT system, all of the runtimes are registered with the exception of one OCX file.
now, as far as I can determine, the program still runs on the clients machine.
The other major problem, is that there does not seem to be a clean un-install procedure - no uninstall program goes with the setup wizard, and using the add/remove from control panel results in a
"cannot find ini file" or some other error message preventing the uninstall.
Can anyone help here? Do I have to go and learn Installshield?
my delivery deadline and funding does not allow the extra time to do this.
