I find it rather difficult to learn how to create some rather simple macros using VBA for Word97. I have spent too much time in the help data base without finding what I want.

And it is simple enough: I mailmerge a (VFP) dbf-file into a word document. Word creates a dividing line (my word uses norwegian terms, I don't know the corresponding english term) between each record.

Now, I want to scan through the document and save each page in a separate file. I get the filename from the text - that at least I have been able to find out by myself.

I can search for the 'page separator', or I can insert a special character that I can search for at the top of each page.

When I try to create search loops in VBA, the cursor remains at the top of the document, and will not move downward. WordBasic in Word6 maybe was not as sophisticated as VBA, but at least I was always able to do what I waned there. Guess a thick book of better than average qualityu is what is needed to master the whole subject, but there really isn't much that I need, is there?
