>>>I have a client who needs me to import tables from his dBase IV application, manipulate it a bit, and put it back. Both tables have and mdx and a dbt. Visual Foxpro's COPY TO command claims to support dBase IV, but doesn't seem to be able to handle the index and memo field. I can use ACCESS to read a table and export to dBase IV format, but want to do all this in VFP! Help.

>>Be very carefull. I think that VFP can see mdx and dbt now. But it will change your dbf and you'll not be able to use it in dBase IV anymore. I know that because I destroyed (this way) some dbfs 2 years ago. Lucky me, there was a backup for them.

>>FPD 2.6 runs well enough dBase IV applications. You can try to switch both app and data.

I'm not sure it works for memo files. And I don't have dBase anymore, so I can't try. Anyway, try everything in test mode.
