SQL 7.0 Admin Problems?

I spent the weekend upgrading our SQL Server 6.5 installation to SQL Server 7.0. I like it! I had to back down to 6.5, though, because of some problems with the client-side administration through MMC. Maybe the problems I'm having are permissions related, but I'm not confident of that. I've given myself server admin access.

So here's what I've found:

- Cannot see the database size from MMC, only the free space. Works fine at server.

- Backing up database to tape doesn't save the drive config that I used at the server. Also, if I create a new \\.\tape0 device and tell it to back up, click OK, it tells me to insert a tape and I click OK (without inserting a tape), it immediately says "Backup complete". This leads me to think that perhaps SQL is trying to back itself up using a tape device located on my workstation [of which there is none]??

- Cannot view process info from remote MMC, but can see it fine from the server.

- Modify a scheduled task (the scheduled run time or something), click Apply and click OK. The run time updates, but the window doesn't close. OK seems to do not much at all. To get out, I have to click on "cancel" and then it asks me if I want to save changes. Haven't tried this at the server.

- I created a database maintenance plan on one of our databases and then looked under "maintenance plans" on the MMC. Didn't see anything. It showed up under the SQL Executive service, though. Once again, didn't try this one at the server.

Can anyone shed some light on any or all of these for me? I'd certainly appreciate it if you had any insight to share.

Thanks in advance!
