Yep, just let me know what you need me to do, if anything. I am not sure if the OPOS would be all that relevant unless whoever want to run the resulting demo actually has a POS device [makes for a really expensive demo :)]. I could provide docs for implementing this part as well as an example subclass of the control I created. I did have to complete a web form agreement in order to download the free control from EPSON. I am allowed to distribute the control royalty free in my apps. I probably could not provide the control, but sample VFP class code could be provided. Blah, blah, blah...

Frankly, I'd put a POS module into it's own executable separate from all other functions. Also, the POS in DB does not key on UPCs, which I find incredulous.

>>I finally found the Duwamish info on the MS site. I have not delved into all that is there yet, but if the OPOS (MS now calls it UPOS, what a shock, another MS *&$%# acronym change) part is not beyond the scope (KISS) of the project, I could help with that part.

>>>Hi John ----
>>>
>>>Ah. The Duwamish Books alternative approach idea was born at the same time that this whole VFPDA dreck started. The idea is to recreate the Duwamish Books MSDN example using an alternate architecture (VFP) for the first few phases. All the starting assumptions are identical. I have a small informal email group assembled thaty I update once or twice a week with progress.
>>>
>>>The goals are twofold:
>>>
>>>One, show that VFP is a good tool for the sort of business situation that Duwamish proposes (at least for some Phases) and that it integrates well with other VS tools as the Phases progress.
>>>
>>>Two, by creating a skeletal app we are creating something that can be uploaded to the UT to serve as a sample application to novices. There are damn few complete apps that a novice can use to learn by (Tastrade SUCKS IMHO).
>>>
>>>Maybe, depending on how it goes, I might try to get Robert Green or someone else to sponsor this for posting to MSDN but I won't be too disappointed if that doesn't happen.
>>>
>>>The MAIN point is to do it, do it right, and give beginners something to look at as a learning tool. No $$$ involved :-D
>>>
>>>Care to be part of the email list?
>>>
>>>
>>>>BTW, what is the Duwamish thing you are working on about? Is this something you are doing on your own, or for somebody else???
