>In novell you can pull up a file on ther server and see who has that file open. I can find no way to do this in Windows NT 4 and it is driving me crazy. We have 40 users punching away on a dos foxpro program all day and sometimes we will get file access denied errors because some user terminated his session with NT abnormaly or something. this makes nt think his file is still open.. It is very hard to brow through each users open files using server manager.

There are tools besides server manager that can; you might try installing Net Watcher, which will allow you to view accesses by opened files. In fact, if you've installed Remote Administration for your server, and are logged in from another station, you can use Net Watcher from another machine to see what's up on the server.
