200 items in a list is large. I certainly don't want to use a list to select one out of 200 items and I don't think my users do either. There are other ways to let a user select one item out hundreds of possible items.

This is not a limitation of a list, it is an issue of UI design. Although VFP's lists and combos get sluggish around 500+ items.
