>Mission Statement for the Visual FoxPro Developers Association
>
>Visual FoxPro Developers Association is an international community of Visual FoxPro developers. Its mission is to enhance the benefits of pooling our efforts, experiences and resources to make Visual FoxPro --the greatest Windows development tool -- even better.

{Remove the words "the greatest Windows development tool" Sounds too much like marketing rhetoric}
{We, as developers and not the authors of Visual FoxPro, cannot make the application better. Reword this to something along the lines of "...to increase awareness and general knowledge of the versatility and usefulness of Visual FoxPro"}

>Specifically, we intend to DEVELOP APPLICATIONS IN VISUAL FOXPRO AND make the resulting applications visible to new potential customers, show off source code that’s beneficial to the developer community and create a base of knowledgeable candidates that are available to create Visual FoxPro Applications in a World Wide environment.

{Replace the words "World Wide" with "international" or "global." "World Wide" sounds too much like "World Wide Web," implying Web-centric applications}

>
>Visual FoxPro Developers Association's original focus is to extend Visual FoxPro's name recognition in the eyes of the press, local community groups and IT Directors. Once accomplished the VFPDA will then be able to assist organizations in need of locating developers in a specific area for Visual FoxPro Application Development, or in porting existing FoxPro data environments to SQL Server environments.

{I agree with some of the others. Change "SQL Server" to "client-server" or "n-tier".}

>
>Visual FoxPro Developers Association's goal IS TO act in a proactive manner to better meet our growing community's needs. Those needs include sharing knowledge, names and organizations that may in some future time become part of the public domain.

{This part will need to be discussed and reviewed carefully. Let's help out organizations with useful information about VFP, but let's also be very careful about maintaining an organization's confidentiality and proprietary information. This clause, more than anything else, rings of the VFPDA being a sort of non-profit consulting firm. It needs to be decided if this is a direction that the association want to go.}

>An underlying goal of this effort will continue to create opportunities which bring Visual FoxPro developers closer to their user community. We expect this to have a positive impact on the character of future releases of Visual FoxPro .
