Come on now, John. Something is 'legitimized' just because one thinks it is?

There are a whole lot of crooks (and worse) who are in jail because that argument did not work for them.

There are still people writing Clipper '87 or dBaseIII+ apps out there. They think each is legitimate, though the vast majority of their former colleagues have moved on to other things, a good many of who are right here using VFP.
Many of those (most I dare say) are very leery of being burned yet again!

Many feel that MS is well under way in the de-legitimization of VFP. You accept that status, and that's fine. A large group here do not. Why do you feel so compelled to rain on the parade? You can just ignore it you know.

I know, you are the business guru of the UT, just as you've shown the lawyers here that you are the lawyer of acumen and majesty here, just as you've shown that you are the preeminent designer/developer here. I don't doubt that you are the worlds best gardener, writer, pilot, psychologist, etc. etc.

Please, just let us plebes play out our little game without all this Brooklyn Bridge nonsense and without all this holier-than-thou crap that you are so fond of. It's truly getting most tiring.

>You see, this is where I may be more optimistic than most. VFP *is* a legitimate tool. If you think it is, and I do, it is. You don't need to have a surrogate organization around to provide legitimacy. Even if VFP were not considered a legitamate tool, why do you think the VFPDA would have the clout to persuade the corporate world otherwise????
