Wow, I have been looking for something like this a long time, ...to the point

I'm familiar with SELECT, INSERT INTO, ALTER TABLE etc...

I'm having problems updateing records in a multiuser environment. Replace all isn't an option.

I need to use something that is quick and dosen't lock a header record. (for any length of time)

The help in Foxpro says that it (update - SQL) can only update records in a single table.

Technically that is what I'm trying to do however it has to relate to a second table. Is this possible?

Is there something else that I can use

I use VFP 3.0 on a NT network. We are not using containers, and would like to get to MS-SQL Server.
That is another reason why I'm trying the UPDATE SQL command.
