Hi Chaim,

We have a large VFP application (runs entire enterprise order entry thru full accounting with a variety of business operations) from three Terminal Server Servers in NJ and several user sites around the country. This set up replaced a PCAnywhere approach.

When originally suggested I voted NO because of the bad press I had heard about VFP and Citrix. The client proceeded over my objections. It works fine, much better than PC Anywhere. A lot has to do with band width and I am not familiar with their exact set up communications wise. I can find out if you want but I must admit that a lot of the technical terminology goes over my head.

I do know that I am connecting via a 28.8 modem and the response time is great. It is as if I am connected via a LAN. In fact many of the local users in NJ connect via TS rather than their LAN because it works better (their local facilities and wiring are badly in need of upgrade).

Hope this helps.

> My client needs to support several dialups (currently 4, it might expand). One plan is to use several individual boxes, each with NT Workstation and PCAnywhere. Another plan is to use 1 big box with NT Terminal Server. We have used regular boxes with PCAnywhere and this method works fine; we have no experience with Terminal Server. If anyone has experience and/or advice regarding Terminal Server, I'd like to hear about it.
