We cannot run anything we've tested on this system. Bat files and DOS programs both react the same way. Like I mentioned, it is something that we've installed at many sites.
Our use of the API is:
odosproc.createobj('api_apprun','dosprog.exe param','default_directory','NOR')
odosproc.launchandwait()
