The report writer in VFP has been called a banded report writer, due to its processing / presentation of information in bands: header body footer, with a hierarchy of report, page, group each with its own bands. Not trying to talk down, just setting framework -- the text / data in a header may be repeated in a footer, but 'keeping them together' implies to me omitting the detail in between -- which may be controlled by 'print when' condition.
