You can do a search of MS's Web pages - the reference (posted a couple of days ago from someone else) is http://www.microsoft.com/COMINFO/DCOM/DCOM1_2/download.asp

> What's the difference between DCOM95.exe and DCOM98.exe? My clients mostly use Win/NT Workstation 4.0 but a few use Win/9x.

DCOM98 contains components for either Win98 or Win95, DCOM95 only for Win95. The DCOM98 is on the Visual Studio CD 1; AFAIK, it can't be downloaded, and there's no clear statement on redistribution.

> Is there any way to know which version of DCOM95 is installed on a machine?

If a current version is installed, then the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software|Microsoft\OLE exists.

If you are running NT, you must upgrade to SP3 or later; there's no separate DCOM distribution for NT.
