Did you get the dimmed Close button when it would not release?

I have seen this a lot. Somewhere apparantly VFP is causing this in the same way that you create a reference to an object and don't release the reference first.

I have also been getting objects that disappear on their own after switching to another application outside of VFP and then switching back to VFP an object may be gone off of the form.
