I have an old legacy system whose files are still in FP2.6 format and must stay that way until it is converted some day.

My problem is that when working in VFP I forget what version I am in and inadvertantly open one of these files to modify the structure. The result is that it gets converted to VFP format.

Does anybody know of a way to make it impossible to modify FP2.6 files from VFP? I keep on making the same stupid mistake.
