OK, Jason ---

I think I have it figured out. I think the combobox is doing what it is supposed to do but you can't "get there from here". If the controlsource is a numeric field, there is no way you are going to store the word "Florida" in it. No way no how. Now, if you changed the BoundColumn property to 1, as I understand the order of your rowsource fields, you will get a datatype mismatch error as VFP will attempt to put "Florida" into the bound field and this won't work.
