Just thought I'd mention that personally, I've found Whil Hentzen's Programming Visual FoxPro 3.0 to be just as effective for 6.0 as it is for 3.0. This book was instrumental in helping me survive the learning curve of VFP. I think you might find that it doesn't delve into the language like you might be looking for - but it sure does a great job of explaining how to tie an application together which I find most books lack. Most just go over each section individually - reports, forms, database management, menus, etc... and never show you how to tie it all together into an app let alone doing it with OOP. Whil's book takes you through the whole development process step-by-step.
