Are you saying that you *can* "create view cursors on the fly" without a database container??? Somehow I had construed the fact that views need a .DBC to prevent this (thinking too much 'within the box' again!).

>this could be a silly question. N-Tier makes a lot of sense specially in VFP where data cursors are very quick to develop and run. In the data management tier, it makes so much sense to have all the business rules in the one place and not have any triggers in the database where both the code and the developing strategies can be easily obscured. What I mean is, the database is under continous development as is the application and a data management object(s) makes all of this more visible.
