Joe,

You work where you work and must live with the lawas there. I am independent and I have worked for many insurance companies both large and small. Living in Connecticut there are certasinly enough of them here.

But for the sake of conversation let's examine the performance issue. Let's say that the average user enters 200 policies a day and that each policy has approximately 10 dates associated with it. Also that 100 of those policies are new and the dates are blank. That leaves 100 per day that require four digit years or two extra keystrokes per date (10 on each policy).

Now let's assume it takes, oh, .1 seconds to type those two digits. Tiems 10 is 1 second, and times 100 is approximately 1.5 minutes per day of that valuable user's time.

Now let's assume that a date got in with the wrong century, any guess what that might cost the company in tracking it done, fixing it and the possible collateral losses associated with it. Would it exceed 1.5 minutes per day of the user's time?

BTW, I type two digits a lot faster than .1 seconds. So in reality the time is much less.
