I cannot say by sure. Maybe, it's reasonable to research the problem to make sure that bound controls are really the reason. You may do quick test by unlinking these controls right before you start your process, e.g.:
Thisform.Setall("ControlSource","","textbox")
depending what classes/subclasses you have. Check also Grid.Recordsource and Combo/List.Rowsource, though I guess the latter is not so critical.
