u can use a graphic conversion tool to -convert the gif to bmp
and back - when u have it in .bmp format use any icon editor to paint it.
u can use VSL to locate graphic conversion program (try searching on GIF and convert)
btw, to the person who wanted icons - u can locate some collections there as well
