Have tried setting background and that does not remove the grey. Two textboxes next to each other, with the same properties and one is grey and the other is not. Have also heard that this is a problem with new VFP 6.0, but have not verified that.

Someone else put zorder(1) in the shape init and it also removed the grey textboxes. But now I have no other ideas how I can stop the grey textboxes. No more shapes, but I do have a deep level of containers in my app: toplevelform, pageframes, sometimes more page frames, containers, and then grids.

No answers ... just confirmation that it's VFP, not you. I have seen the same where I have two textboxes on an Optiongroup control, on a shape. The txtBoxes can be grey when I expect white. Sometimes I can't click on the optiongroup buttons either. It's as if the shape is covering everything and I can't get at it. In the form designer, I send the shape to the back and that will fix my problem until I accidentally leave the shape on top again. I'm using VFP 6.0 SP2.

Sometimes those textboxes are grey and it's a good thing (when I am at eof())
