It depends on the number of fields in the child table. For tables with very few fields, I use a form with a list or read-only grid on the left side of the form and editable fields on the right side. Clicking on any row in the grid/list updates the text boxes. Editing a textbox updates the grid/list.
If there are more fields, I use a page frame with the editable text boxes on the second page.
