We took a largish 2.6 app and converted it to 5.0. I can not remember if we choose functionally. It is a large undertaking, and eventually you will have to rewrite some of the code and forms. The converted 2.6 is not like 5.0 from scratch. There are alot of properties and method that are "included for backward compatibility" (such as the important Windowtype). Bottom line is that a converted 2.6 will never behave like a 5.0 from scratch. We could not get pageframes or grids to work properly in the converted 2.6 forms. We compromised with rewritting the core system and leaving the additional information screen (mostly modal), in converted 2.6. This has worked well. We even moved it to vfp 6.0.

I have seen in the download files (the filing cabinet over on the top left)some software to convert 2.6 to real 5.0, not converted 2.6. Unfortunately I do not remember which cabinet (section) it was in. This would definately be worth a try. Because the 5.0 converted from 2.6 screens have alot of container layers that you can not remove and get to compile. Also converted 2.6 has the old ReadWhen, ReadShow, etc methods. A true conversion would be worth investigating.

>I need to ask some specific questions about converting an entire project from FPW 2.6 to VFP 6.0. I've tried it the way the help files suggest but it doesn't work. I chose to try it functionally; however, the project will not build. If someone out there has any suggestions, please send them my way. Thanks.
