TIW is not very tough to work with. I use my own DBC in my own directory and project and life is good. Stick to local views and life it very easy with TIW.

Now SBT to on the ohter hand. Too many places to add code and no freakin road map to follow. Well documented, for the anal retentive.

SBT how do I love you, let me count the ways:

1) Changing anything on a report.
2) adding data to sales orders and having it post at end of month.
3) xxYxxxnn Why have a history file anyway.
4) Changes to one company may not be wanted in another company.
5) FUNCTIONS() in indexes that took brains.
6) Year to date values are not even close to being correct.
7) Payroll was designed by Elbonians.
8) No way to sumarize history you just get to delete it.
9) SBT's opinion of the printing process.
10) Support from people who do not know how to listen.

Set rant off

But really folks if you need to sell a package it's easy to do and you can make lot's of $ supporting it. Because it takes lots of time to do anything with it. Their training is a joke and not worth thinking of.

Recently they had a press release that states that they are going to change it all and do it right. I can't see how their dealer base can change with them. Too many people out there and too many 3rd party products that are going to get screwed up.

Only means that there is a lot of revenue to be had. ;-)

>>I second that opinion! SBT is very difficult to work with and upgrading versions with alot of custom code is worse.

>>>The job I have now is working with SBT. I hate it! I don't know if the others are any better, but I'd advise avoiding SBT. Crazy code is making me crazy with it.

Instead of a full reorg/restructure of code/procedures, forms, they basically did a visual conversion and kept the code pasted in methods/external programs. They did it just to say they had the product available in VFP but still uses a lot of old techniques of programming.
