The only thing that I know fires like you described is the When() and Valid() of the TextBoxes in the grid.

The When and Valid of the grid itseld is quite different :--

Grid.When() fires when it attempts to receive the focus.
Grid.Valid() fires when it attempts to transfer the focus to another object.
