I've experienced this problem in-depth where I work, and it was a serious problem with our processes running on an NT-Server. We finally gave up and replaced the machine ( not cheap ) and the problem hasn't come up since. We were using an IBM 720 server with dual processors, the machine was nothing but trouble. I know that is a terrible response ...

None of these were adequate solutions, but might work, we expereinced the problems when foxpro ( and only foxpro ) was writing data across the network ( token ring ). Once we replaced our IBM server with a Compaq server the problem went away.
