Working with VFP 5.0

In a 3-tiers application, I'm wondering what is the prefered method of returning a dataset from a COM object to the client tier.

In my current situation, all tiers will be build with VFP, but I do not want to tie the client tier to the business tier by returning a cursor. I want to have the possibility of switching the client tier without changing the business tier.

I was thinking about ADO, but I think that it's not available for VFP 5.0
