As far as I know this not the same thing as the "volume name" (or "label" in DOS world). Althought, I don't know very much on Win NT. Keep in touch.

It should report correctly on any kind of removable drives. BTW, if the reported type is 2 (DRIVE_REMOVABLE), it doesn't mean it's a floppy drive, as you sure noticed.
