Yes, Jim, you are exactly right.

I guess I just feel that there comes a point in time, with almost anything about life, that what was once considered 'optimized' now becomes the "standard" way of doing things, so it is no longer 'optimized'. The case where the "standard" way of doing something is *not* employed becomes 'non-standard' and even 'non-optimized'.

In other words, it would be "news" if a language did not do something (such as execute a logical expression) in a "standard" way but it is no longer newsworthy that VFP (or anything else) does employ the standard.

Anything else seems like saying that I am an 'optimized' human because I have 2 eyes (or 2 ears or 2 whatevers).
