We need to have all users of our system relying on the same ODBC connection. I know the File DSN will allow a definition to be stored in a DSN file anywhere on the network, and we've set one up. Problem is I can't find anything in SQLConnect that will allow me to use anything other than a User or Machine definition, or, more accurately, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell it to use a particular file rather than a defined connection.

Does anybody know how to make a connection via a file DSN? Will SQLConnect work with file DSNs? Does it sound like we're just going about this all wrong?

TIA...
